Advanced
Short games and traps, Middle Game, Typical Combinations, Combining Ideas, Attacks, Positional Play / Advantage, End Game, Problem Studies

After covering above topics, a student can expect to compete against computer chess programs with a rating of 700-1000 at a minimum. Post this period, the Tutor’s role will be in refining and improving the student’s playing level. This will be done primarily by analyzing friendly and tournament games played by the student. E.g. List out variations, How to attack better, How to exploit winning positions, How to get better in strategizing and thinking several moves ahead. Participation in school and FIDE-rated tournaments will be encouraged. Achieving a rating of 1500 will be ideal for this program.

Classes: Every Sunday for 1.5 hours

Regular practice and problem solving study homework will be given after each class
Time frames are approximate based on the study required. Each student may take different timeframes based on various factors
Participation in tournaments/matches regularly is necessary. Just practice and attending classes will not help in mastering the game
